ICT is destined to be a new normal across Uganda, and is expected to be a driving force towards achievement of the Uganda Vision 2040; yet effective ICT practices is still a myth, adult basic computer & digital Literacy still below 30%. For rural Uganda, <\/em>7 in 10 Youth are not willing to choose options associated to computer & other hands-on Skills; this perception has escalated long term unemployment, kept individuals vulnerable and poor.<\/span><\/h6>\n
WENET supports the use of ICT, not only to reshape the employment market but also presenting lifetime opportunities for Ugandans; 9 in 10 of our past beneficiaries who attained digital skills qualification, a practical and transferable competency, are working confidently, effectively and independently in life.<\/span><\/h6>\n

Our Action Has Impacted On Digital Literacy!<\/h1>

WENET, in collaboration with the 18 Schools and youth Groups are collaborating on promoting ICT. With inspiration from KAWA Uganda, we initiated and now ensuring the sustainability of ICT Projects and other digital Innovations; formed 3 active School ICT Clubs in different partner secondary Schools since 2022; Busoga Light College-Jinja, Kaliro High School & Royal Secondary School, Buwenge. WENET is also engaged with 2 community youth Groups; one based at our Skills Empowerment Embassy, Ayami in Lira District; and another, Dynamic Jinja City Youth, based at Mafubira Ward, a needy suburb in Jinja City.<\/h6><\/header>[vc_empty_space height=”50px”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row kd_background_image_position=”vc_row-bg-position-top”][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
