Scaling Up The Employability Of Youth

Although 83.5% of the Ugandans aged 15-29 are engaged in informal jobs; more than 2.2 million youth stay idle; unemployment rate is 13.3% for aged 18-30, one of the highest in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our experience with rural ugandan communities show 3 in 5 adult youth unemployed; 7 in 10 sort of basic employable skills. Government would provide the largest number of skilled Employees in Uganda, enabling transition to employable Skills, and supply competent apprentices! Low engagement of youth arises from; limited accessibility, inadequate resources, biased regional coverage & foreign language as the medium of instruction.
WENET is encouraging, promoting and enabling; youth entrepreneurship, earlier patriotic career growth, multifunctional & vocationalised labour force, forging new standards of work experience and technological networking.
